Corsica: A Sensational Journey

Traveling to Corsica is a sensational story! A favorite that unfolds through sensory experiences. Dazzled, ecstatic, fulfilled, rocked, touched... Corsica truly marked our 5 senses!

First Impressions in Corsica

My first trip to Corsica deeply impacted me. I was only 15 years old then. Even more than its mountains, it was its marine depths that fascinated me. I vowed to return one day... And 15 years later, I couldn't resist the call of the Travel Bloggers' Salon, which selected Ajaccio for its second edition.

Here are my first impressions of this beautiful island, still just as stunning (even more so!) than in my memories...

How can we talk about Corsica without mentioning its landscapes? Whether sea or mountains, there's something for everyone!

And since a picture is worth a thousand words...

Corsican Scents

While sight may be the predominant sense, it is certainly not the only one to sway us. Not by a long shot!

With my nose in the air, I felt swept away by the sweet scents of Corsican flora: the sugary aromas of the pines, the more floral scents of the pittosporum tobira...

Notes of jasmine made me feel, for a moment, as if I were back in Sicily...

Corsica is something you can eat!

Charcuterie here, charcuterie there... I admit, I had a delightful overload (it's so good!). But there's not just sausage: chestnuts and hazelnuts are prepared in every way... to the dismay of my scale!

To the Tune of Corsica

Discovering Corsican polyphonic songs photo by unsacsurledos.com

The polyphonic songs of Corsica were another wonderful discovery from this trip. A tradition, a passing down: since the 9th century, Corsicans have resonated their voices through time and space.

These men sing, and we, we travel...

Touched!

Corsicans have a funny reputation. Proud. Arrogant. Violent. Separatists.

But we saw only fascinating, passionate, and warm people.

A handshake is enough. We are touched!

Corsican friends, how I understand the love you have for your beautiful island! Thank you for your hospitality and kindness. Your island has captured us, and you, you have won us over.

One Thing is for Sure: We Will Return

I still have many more stories to tell you about Corsica!
