If you haven't booked your plane tickets yet because you're still hesitating, then I suggest reading this post to illuminate your mind!

Like many cities in southern Spain such as Seville, Cordoba, or Granada, Malaga is a destination that you can visit year-round. Andalusia is known for offering beautiful, pleasant, and mild temperatures, although it attracts many tourists during the summer season.

Due to its Mediterranean climate, Malaga will delight many vacationers! In fact, this destination offers long, hot summers and mild, sometimes rainy winters.

With no less than 3,000 hours of consistent sunshine, which is about 300 sunny days per year, Malaga is clearly a vacation destination that can be enjoyed year-round. If you love heat, you can visit this city on the Costa del Sol from mid-June to early September.

On the other hand, travelers searching for more pleasant temperatures often prefer to explore Malaga in spring, from late March to mid-June, and in autumn, between late September and the beginning of November.

Generally speaking, the months of December, January, and February are considered the coldest! We can see a drop of 5 to 10 degrees, with strong winds and an average precipitation rate. When comparing Andalusia to France, Spanish winters remain pleasant, with peaks occasionally reaching 18 degrees.

Without hesitation, spring and autumn are the two best times to fully discover Malaga without being disturbed by the inconveniences of the high tourist season! This period includes many advantages that attract more and more travelers seeking tranquility.

Personally, I have a slight preference for autumn, although spring is just as enjoyable. To explore each season in more detail, I propose that you continue reading this post!

Spain is a country with some particular features regarding its climate. Even though spring officially starts at the end of March, we can already expect rising temperatures starting in early March. It should be noted that the thermometer will begin to stabilize by mid-February.

In other words, you can easily enjoy temperatures reaching up to 25 degrees in March, which is relatively pleasant since the days are getting longer and the nights are milder.

If you're wondering when to visit Malaga, choosing spring is an excellent choice as the days will be sunny, with pleasant temperatures for exploring the city on foot. You can enjoy outdoor activities, terraces, and strolls on the beach without being overwhelmed by intense heat.

Regarding tourist traffic, it is evident that Malaga is much less crowded when comparing spring to the summer season. Of course, you will encounter many other travelers who have decided to visit the city in the off-season, but the tourist sites will not be packed like in summer.

By choosing spring to visit Malaga, I recommend going before June. In my opinion, traveling in Spain between April and mid-May is an ideal time. By May, tourists are already starting to appear, prices begin to increase, and the city becomes busier. To escape the crowds, feel free to rent a car at Malaga airport for a little adventure!

If you want to fully enjoy the beach and swimming in Malaga, then I highly recommend booking your plane tickets for the autumn season. Personally, I really enjoy this season for a multitude of reasons that I am sure will convince you to go to Andalusia at this time!

For travelers who decide to visit Andalusia in September, you can clearly enjoy still warm temperatures and sunny days but with a bit more moderation. The evenings and nights are less stifling and more pleasant, which will be ideal for nighttime walks in Malaga.

Arriving at the end of September and into early October, temperatures drop significantly but remain warm. During this period, you may experience more or less spring-like temperatures, with the nights beginning to cool down and some showers.

Once October is well underway, Malaga reveals a different side. Tourist traffic decreases significantly, terraces are less crowded, and the atmosphere is more pleasant. As we move towards November, expect average temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees and cold nights.

Ideally, visit Malaga between late September and mid-October. Here, it's a key period to enjoy still warm and sunny days without having to endure excessive tourist traffic.

The winter season is quite interesting for discovering Andalusia, especially Malaga. Even if temperatures drop, you will experience one of the warmest winters in Southern Europe!

In terms of precipitation, you won't escape a few showers, particularly in December and more abundantly in January. There are about 5 hours of sunshine per day, with temperatures averaging between 10 and 13 degrees, which is not necessarily unpleasant.

Winds are stronger, humidity increases, and nights are very cold. In the mornings, expect cool temperatures that stabilize by early afternoon. In the late afternoon, with sunset in particular, the cold returns and the wind picks up, so be sure to bundle up if you're outside.

By February, temperatures begin to stabilize, even though it is still cold. If you want to visit Malaga in winter, I can only recommend traveling during this month. This way, you will have a more authentic experience, with few tourists and more favorable rates on accommodations and plane tickets.

Often discouraged, going to Malaga in summer promises an intense experience! Temperatures are very high, the weather is hot and sunny, with a bit of humidity at times.

Clearly, if you only have summer to vacation in Malaga and fear the heat, I highly recommend booking your stay in June. The temperatures are still manageable, prices are enticing, though they begin to seriously increase, so don't delay.

Conversely, going to Malaga in July and August can be unpleasant. The heat is intense and even stifling depending on the humidity level, with hot winds coming from the African continent. As for August, it is often considered the hottest month in Spain, with occasional storms!

Very high tourist traffic, crowded terraces and beaches, rising prices-the summer season has both advantages and disadvantages. Even though summer is ideal for swimming in Malaga and enjoying all the beach pleasures, I advise you to well prepare your trip to Andalusia, especially for a road trip.

To be honest, there is not really a worst season or worst time to visit Andalusia. In the case of Malaga, the weather remains generally pleasant year-round. Even in winter, Spain is one of the warmest countries in Northern Europe, and the decision is up to you; it is really subjective.

Now, if I had to suggest a few options, I would say that November is not the most pleasant month since the precipitation rate is much higher. Even though many days are sunny and somewhat warm, November is certainly the least stable period. Winter is not necessarily the best time to visit Malaga. You can obviously explore the city and its beautiful monuments on foot, but keep in mind that many attractions reserved exclusively for the summer season are closed, like beachside chiringuitos, for example.
