The three areas I mentioned are all wonderful places to stay in Tangier. They are all situated close to each other, yet offer a different atmosphere. In terms of lodging, you will have the choice between hotels, apartments, and especially some very beautiful traditional riads...

One piece of advice I can offer is to stay in a central neighborhood. This is the best way to explore the city on foot and to make beautiful discoveries at every corner. Additionally, it is essential to book your accommodation as soon as possible! Tangier is a highly sought-after destination, so don't wait too long

When staying in the Kasbah, you will quickly notice that this area inherits from various civilizations that have marked the history of the city and its architecture, including the Romans, Arabs, Europeans, Phoenicians, and Carthaginians. Simultaneously, you cannot miss the beauty of its traditional architecture, with white houses and doors adorned with intricate designs...

I strongly encourage you to wander through the alleys of the Kasbah to discover squares, ancient fountains, gardens, and magnificent buildings such as the Kasbah Museum Dar El Makhzen, in the eastern part, which was once a royal residence transformed into a historical museum.

When to visit Tangier in Morocco?

By deciding to go to Tangier, you will enjoy a pleasant coastal climate characterized by hot summers and dry winters. In this sense, I recommend visiting Tangier in the spring, a season that presents warm yet mild temperatures, as well as cooler nights. Fall is also a good time to discover the White City after the intense summer heat

How to get to Tangier from France?

Getting to Tangier by plane

The simplest and quickest way to get to Tangier is by plane. You can find direct flights from cities such as Paris, Lyon, or Nantes, for example! If you book in advance, you can score some good deals, especially by booking your flight through airlines like Ryanair!

Once you arrive, getting to the city won't cost you much. Taxi prices are affordable unless you arrive at night when drivers might take advantage. So always check the fare quoted.

By car and ferry

Traveling by car to take the ferry to Tangier can be an interesting option depending on your travel motivations and its duration. For this, it is not very complicated as you would take the highway passing through Bayonne or Perpignan and cross Spain to Gibraltar.

From Gibraltar, you would take a ferry to reach the port of Tangier Med. It's a long journey that can be a beautiful experience. Depending on your starting point, pass through Andalusia and make some stops along the way!

That's all for this guide on the best neighborhoods and accommodations where to stay in Tangier. If you are planning an actual road trip in Morocco, I also have other articles that might suit you, such as where to stay in Essaouira or what to do in Marrakech, both of which are must-visit cities
