Every year, Hong Kong attracts millions of visitors, drawn by the diversity of its culture, where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. In 2023, the city welcomed nearly 34 million tourists, which is about 93,000 visitors per day. In December, this figure skyrockets to around 129,000 visitors per day, knowing that the city is full of must-see attractions, but they can be quite expensive Fortunately, it's possible to save a few dollars using the Hong Kong Pass
Overview of Passes for Visiting Hong Kong
With its fascinating skyscrapers, bustling markets, nature-embedded temples, and massive amusement parks, there is no shortage of activities. There is much to discover, but tours can quickly drain your budget without you realizing it. From the Ngong Ping 360 cable car, to the Sky100 observation deck, and interactive museums, expenses can exceed what you planned for.
Like any major city, there are multi-activity deals that allow for some savings, but I must tell you, they won't work miracles, as Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China, remains a very expensive destination where everything costs a lot-accommodation, food, transportation, activities, etc.
There are tourist cards, or Hong Kong passes, suitable for all types of stays, so you will need to choose wisely to ensure that the pass you select corresponds to your stay and your desires! One pass allows access to a defined number of activities to be done within 30 days, another is more flexible and lets you do as many activities as you want within a limited timeframe of a few days, and a third is dedicated solely to transportation within the city Here's an overview of these passes <-️
Hong Kong All Inclusive Pass
Having a pass allows you to visit a maximum number of attractions with a single ticket. And if there's one pass that I found super convenient for visiting Hong Kong, it's the Hong Kong All Inclusive Pass! This option offered by Go City allows you to access over 25 attractions without limits for a set duration of 1 to 7 days It's an ideal choice if you want to do as many visits as possible in a short amount of time, without having to buy a separate ticket for each attraction.
Included Attractions
With the All Inclusive Pass, you gain access to over 25 must-see attractions in Hong Kong. Here are some examples of sites I experienced by choosing this pass:
Ocean Park Hong Kong: If you love large amusement parks, you will be delighted with Ocean Park and its vast aquarium, roller coasters, and especially its cable car (exclusive to the Hong Kong All Inclusive Pass).
Ngong Ping 360: If you enjoy discovering the treasures of Hong Kong via cable car, Ngong Ping 360 offers you a panoramic view as you soar over the mountains to the giant Buddha
Big Bus Tours: This sightseeing bus takes you through the big city with multiple stops, allowing you to get a first glimpse of the city
Sky100 Observation Deck: This site is a must-see during your visit to Hong Kong, as you ascend to the top of the ICC Tower, on the 100th floor, for an incredible 360° view of the entire city ️
Noah's Ark: If you're traveling with family, don't miss this family attraction inspired by Noah's Ark. The reconstructions are impressive, as is the grand interactive museum.
Here are more attractions you can include in your pass:
A day at Hong Kong Disneyland
The observation deck of the Macau Tower
The legendary Peak Tram, combined with access to the Sky Terrace 428
A day at Legend Heroes Park
M+ Museum
Hong Kong Maritime Museum
The Monopoly Dreams universe
A guided tour on World War II
A walking tour in Hong Kong's unusual neighborhoods
The Aberdeen 1773 experience: Sampan and floating homes with an audio guide
A tour in the Lan Kwai Fong district
A dim sum menu at the Chinese restaurant Serenade
A menu with Peking duck at Peking Garden
An ink painting workshop
A Chinese tea preparation and tasting workshop
A chocolate workshop
A handmade candle-making workshop
The pass also includes themed guided tours such as discovering the Central district or a discovery walk through local markets.
The Price of the Pass
The price of the pass depends on the number of days you plan to use it. Here are the rates:
*Rates converted from Hong Kong dollars at April 2025 exchange rates.
Tip: If you choose a longer pass, the price per attraction decreases. Starting from 3 or 4 visits per day, the pass becomes very cost-effective.

- 1 day $99 $70
- 2 days $164 $117

- 5 days $316 $228

How the Pass Works
Using the Hong Kong All Inclusive Pass is super simple
- First, purchase your pass online at Go City.
- You will receive an order number via email to enter into the Go City app available on the App Store and Google Play.
- Once entered in the app, you can activate your pass by selecting your first activity. Note that it works on a daily basis (so don't activate it in the middle of the afternoon or in the evening; you will lose a day).
It is worth noting that some attractions require advance reservations, indicated in the Go City app. This is the case for LEGOLAND, Ocean Park, and other particularly popular tourist attractions ️
Hong Kong Explorer Pass
If you prefer to visit at your own pace, without rushing, or if you already know the sites you wish to visit, the Hong Kong Explorer Pass is the option that will suit you best. Unlike the All Inclusive, this option allows you to choose a fixed number of attractions, and the card is valid for 30 days. In addition to being flexible, it's the right fit for travelers who want to enjoy their time at each visit.
Included Attractions in the Pass
The Explorer Pass gives access to the same list of about 25 attractions as the All Inclusive, with a few exclusives:
Big Bus Night Tour
Cantonese dinner at 5 of Hong Kong's best restaurants
An 8-course dinner at Peking Garden.
Thus, during your stay, you can choose between 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 attractions from the list mentioned for the All Inclusive Pass (❌ except Ocean Park) and these 3 exclusives If you want to see the complete list, just visit Go City.
The Price of the Pass

- Pricing Plans* Adult Price* Child Price (ages 3 to 11)
- 3 attractions $99 $64
- 4 attractions $129 $78
- 5 attractions $158 $111
- 6 attractions $181 $129
- 7 attractions $205 $146
How the Hong Kong Explorer Pass Works
The Hong Kong Explorer Pass works exactly the same way as the All Inclusive Pass since it is also provided by Go City
The difference is that you are not obliged to do the visits consecutively and therefore do not need to pay attention to the time at which you use the pass for the first time. You can perfectly visit one attraction on Monday and another on Tuesday; that is the beauty of this option!
However, if you change your mind and want to do more activities than planned, you will need to buy separate tickets or purchase another pass. The attractions cannot be modified.
Peak Tram & Sky Terrace 428 Pass
There is a third very specific pass, as it only concerns the Peak Tram and the Sky Terrace 428, what's it called? The Peak Tram & Sky Terrace 428 Pass. With this pass, you also benefit from priority access to these very popular attractions in Hong Kong They are must-sees if you ever wonder what to do in Hong Kong!
Included Attractions
This pass includes only two tickets, but for magnificent attractions in Hong Kong:
The Peak Tram: The pass allows you to have priority access, meaning you enter directly through a dedicated or priority entrance of the funicular that slowly ascends the great slopes of Victoria Peak You will see Hong Kong and the roofs of its skyscrapers from above which reaches an altitude of 1,811 feet. The experience is incredible, especially during the ascent and descent, as the incline is so steep that the skyscrapers look tilted. The round trip takes about 10 minutes.
The Sky Terrace 428: This is a panoramic platform perched at 1,404 feet. It is located at the top of the Peak Tram and offers a 360-degree view of the city, Victoria Harbor, and even the distant mountains. Day or night, the view is simply magical, especially at sunset.
Bonus: The pass also grants you access to interactive galleries that tell the story of the Peak Tram.
The Price of the Peak Tram & Sky Terrace 428 Pass
The pass is offered starting at $16 per person, but I recommend checking availability based on your schedule. The pass is only valid for one day.
My Opinion on the Hong Kong Pass
The Hong Kong Pass has its advantages, but may also have a few drawbacks. It all depends on the visitor. The most beneficial aspect for me is the flexibility that each option offers. By choosing a pass like those offered by Go City, you can visit a large number of popular attractions for a price often more affordable than if you were to buy tickets separately for each site. It's also practical for a short stay since everything is at your fingertips: you pay in advance and remotely, you save time at the entrance with priority access, and you enjoy discounts on multiple attractions. Therefore, you worry less about the budget since everything is included in a single purchase
However, a few limits should be considered. For example, it can be difficult to make the pass worthwhile if you don't manage to visit enough attractions each day with the All Inclusive Pass. Additionally, it's crucial to plan your itinerary well and prepare a to-do list for your visits. Some passes might not include all the attractions you wish to visit.
In any case, my favorite remains the Explorer Pass. I tested it and it allowed me to see the sites on my to-do list without needing to rush Likewise, for a very short stay, or if you think you won't need a pass, the Peak Tram & Sky Terrace 428 Pass will be great anyway!
In conclusion, Hong Kong is a fascinating city full of surprises. Its panoramas, culture, gastronomy-what beautiful sensations and discoveries that stand out from the ordinary. Thanks to tourist passes, it is possible to fully enjoy all its must-see attractions and find new ideas. Convenient, economical, and easy to use, personally, I won't travel without one again! And you, which pass will you choose for discovering Hong Kong differently? If you are not yet at this stage of your preparations, I can also offer you a guide to find where to stay in Hong Kong ️
